Web Streaming
Tuesday 23 October 2007
The WASC07 Organising Committee is endeavoring to provide web streaming
of events via the FIRS website so that supporters from around the world
who are unable to attend, can still witness the events. However, due to
technical limitations within the local exchange where the host venue is
located, live web streaming may be of reduced quality. We are committed
to provide the best possible supply of online viewing and will shortly
be able to provide a schedule of streamed events."
SopCast is a simple, free way to broadcast video and audio or watch the video and listen to radio on the Internet. Adopting P2P(Peer-to-Peer) technology, It is very efficient and easy to use. Let anyone become a broadcaster without the costs of a powerful server and vast bandwidth.. http://www.sopcast.org/
- Entre também nessa campanha! Envie e-mails aos organizadores, publiquem pedidos nos sites de relacionamento como MySpace, Orkut, Fotolog e outros.

Firstly, can I just say to the many (outside of this forum) who have
emailed me and complained to me personally as if it is my fault that
there will not be any webcast - I'M SORRY - BUT I HAVE TRIED AND
TRIED..
I have pushed this on numerous occasions with the Federation time and
time again but they have firmly said 'NO IT WILL NOT BE HAPPENING'..
unfortunately it was not something that went in their budget.. (crazy I
know)..
so please - I have answered dozens and dozens of complaints ... but i
have tried and I cannot do anything further.. I sympathize with all
your causes and I campaigned long and hard, but it has not helped I'm
sorry to say...
Even to this day I have been trying to find a solution.. and NO it is
not because there is a company selling DVD's from the event - those
guys have come all the way from Europe to do it..
But there will def not be a webcast, that's all i can say sorry...
If it were up to me, it would have been the first thing on the agenda..

Hello List ,
Id like to add other considerations and share with you and hopefully
somehow with the ones responsible for the aforementioned event.
1- Web transmissisons normally boots DVDs sales because people know what they will get and with superior quality.
2 - P2p solution is a very low cost that fits into any budget.
3 - The broadcasting usuallty transmits at 320x240 pixel resolution,
this is not enough to produce a DVD or anyu other comercial product.
4 - The sponsors will also be in more evidence , more exposed and they
will be under benefit to see their brands broadcasted around the world
alive.
5 - The DVD productors from Europe can always insert announcements and
adds about the DVDs sales, just like the way it had been done in the US
Nationals.
6 - One day after the DVDs release they will be purchased and will be
copied and probably will be available in p2p websites such as bit
torrents, emule , you tube or rapid share etc... This is the true global
and real situation that demands a global and quick actions that crashes
against the mistaken decision made.
7 - As one sport´spopularity is increased, also its audience will be
affected which will consume more skating products that in mid and long
term will return to sponsor new events and the cycle goes on. The short
term vision is a very poor marketing tool because this is the shortest
way to bring our sport piffe audiences and less number of athletes and
fanciers and in the end of the chain less sponsors and then CRISIS (
which in some languages mean CHANGING) .Thus, its time to change, before
its too late.
Rolaboi Ive been aware youve been struggling for many things regardign
skates, Ive always known you would understand and support our cause
which is a shame for the status the committee expects for the event.
Thank yall.

I agree with all your comments, and I am well aware of all this
information - as per previous - all of this has been brought to their
attention.. unfortunately, it is not going to happen.. I am sorry.. but
their decision has been made.. If it were up to me, it would be YES..
but again, its no...
