There have been small modifications to the CIPA book for the year 2009. Following a little abstract of the changes.

MAIN ALTERATIONS TO CIPA REGULATION BOOK

2009 EDITION

TR 2.12  Procedure of Entry (solo dance) – Page 19

2.12.09  The Senior Solo Dance will be split into Mens and Ladies as separate events (see 2.12.09 rule)

The Junior Solo Dance remains a combined event for Mens and Ladies.

DS 8.03 Compulsory Dances – Page 56

8.03.03 The Castel March will be skated in 2010 (a DVD was given to all Nations in 2007) and this will be demonstrated again during the 2009 World Championships

SD 9.01 Solo Dance – Page 68

9.01.02

Note the change of dances here and the “possibility” of the Gregory Rhumba being skated in 2010.  (This will also be demonstrated during the 2009 World Championships.

PR 11.03 General Rules for Set Elements (Precision) – Page 72

11.03.01  No.2. Any type of handhold or combination of handholds can be used.  “However, at least 3 different handholds must be shown”.

 b.  The main performance of a show group must be “Show” and not “Precision”

“No more than 4 typical precision elements are allowed”

 h.  When sending entries for small or large show groups, a short explanation of not more than 25 words must be attached to the entries describing the performance in ENGLISH.  These descriptions will be given to the Judges and announced by the speaker as the group is entering in the floor.
